Using a 5/3 valve its possible to stop a pneumatic cilinder, in another postion then the 2 ends. This is never as precise as a CNC control or electronic cylinder. But it can be very useful to for manual operations that dont require great precision. There are 3 variants. What we offer here is the closed-center version. There are also open-center and pressure center versions. In the closed-center version, the ports to the double-acting cylinder are closed when the coils are not being actuated. Which maintains the pressure in the pneumatic cilinder. In principle, the piston will remain where you stopped it. This can of course vary under the influence of the mechanical load, but also if you have a leak somewhere in a pipe.
