AC Servo Drive 200W ASD-B3A-0221-L (Step-Dir + STO)

The Delta B3 servo system is the long-awaited successor to the Delta B2 servo system. DamenCNC BV only supplies the B3A models common in Europe, which are equipped with STO (Safe Torque Off) as standard. These STO inputs can be used in combination with a safety relay to achieve a SIL2 protection level for the emergency stop.

There are a number of different types of communication: Pulse (step/dir), CAN-OPEN or EtherCAT communication. All types can be found in our webshop, and we keep stock of the Pulse (step/dir) and EtherCAT. The type we offer here has Pulse (step/dir) communication. This Pulse version, which can be recognized by the L at the end of the product code, also has the option to communicate using RS-485 MODBUS.

When using these types of servo drivers in CNC systems, the most important improvement is that the new servo motors can handle an encoder up to 24bit, which is 16,777,216 pulses per revolution. Due to the higher resolution, the bandwidth of the system has been enormously improved from 0.5khz to 3.1khz. In practice, this has the advantage that PID tuning will become easier. Furthermore, the mass inertia ratios can be slightly further off than normal. It is also possible to control older ECMA motors with these new B3 drivers (the cables do need to be modified!).
For use in combination with PLCs and/or HMIs or other automation tasks, the most important improvement is that there is now an internal motion generator, just like before with the A2 drivers. This allows you to program 99 paths. Something like this can be useful for simple tasks where the PLC would then be completely left out.
