The ECM-B3 AC servomotors are suitable for the Delta B3 and Delta B3A Delta servo drivers. Compared to previous generations of AC Servo motors from Delta, like the A2/B2 and A3 systems, the new ECM-B3 AC-servomotors are much more compact. For a 750W servo motor, the size has decreased about 19%. The performance of the motors has actually increased. The maximum RPM is increased from 5000 RPM to 6000 RPM. Also the short term boost in torque of 300% has now been increased to 350%. Meaning you can accelerate and decelerate your systems more quickly, to further reduce cycle times. Also in terms of encoder resolutions big steps forward have been made. There are several variants of the encoder. The type offered here has a 24 bit absolute encoder, which also works in multi turn (17bits). If you compare this to the previous ECMA motors that were suitable for the B2 system, it's a giant leap from 160,000 pulses/rev to 16,777,216 pulses per revolution. In the past the B2 system did not have an absolute encoder, only the more expensive A2 system had such a function. The ECM-B3 motors in combination with the B3 drivers, offer a big leap forward in technology. Which will result in more advanced systems, shorter cycle times, and possibly the related cost savings.
