HSK40-A Ø12 x 80H Hydraulic Toolholder

Guhring HSK-A hydraulic chucks with increased clamping force are extremely user friendly which means quick and easy tool changes. They have a  tough and compact design and it is the most slender chuck in our range. When using a hydraulic chuck take into account that the tool has to have a smooth shaft, it can not have any weldon shanks. Those would damage the tool. What is also important is that the cutting tool you use has an h6 tolerance on the outside diameter. Most high performance tools have this. The hydraulic chuck has several advantages over a collet chuck. The total run out of the system will be less, because there is one less interface (collet). Also the hydraulic oil helps to create a slight damping. When you run tests, same tool, same material, same feeds and speeds. You will achieve a smoother product finish, a lower surface roughness is achieved. Unlike a shrink fit system, no special tooling is required to use a hydraulic chuck. The hydro-chucks can also be used, with clamping sleeves, to clamp a smaller diameter tool, these have the advantage that you can transfer more torque with the same tool. (lever effect)
