90° End mills with XEVT 16 inserts of very high positive rake angle & helical cutting edges for high speed aluminum machining. At DamenCNC, we have a DMG-Mori  CMX70U 3+2 machining center that we use to make prototypes. We mill a lot of aluminium. We use exactly this type of a cutter in our own machine center. The performance is mind blowing. What's also interesting is that one can use one cutter for so many different types of jobs. Since the XEVT-16 inserts fit all the different cutter bodies, it's convenient to have several different ones. We have short and stubby ones, for roughing jobs. And then we have extra long cutters, to get really deep into parts. All of these use the same inserts. The inserts themselves are available in different radii, so the cutter can be easily adjusted to cut the radius you need at the bottom of a pocket.

These cutters also work well with the high RPM TeknoMotors that we sell. Most often they are sold with the ATC71 and then in the HSK63F version. The high power versions can really cut aluminium at a similar pace as the DMG-Mori machine. We do recommend sticking to the smaller 25 and 32mm diameters. The 50-80-100mm face mills are nice, but then you get into lower RPMs where the motor is not as powerful.
