When using miniature ballscrews (8-10-12mm diameter), we recommend using these shaft couplings. Since the ball screws are virtually free of play, it is important that the shaft coupling is as well, and this type of schaftcoupler is. The nominal torque is 2Nm and the maximum torque is 4Nm. In theory it is therefore possible to apply this coupling to a 4Nm stepper motor. In practice (due to the size) we only use this motor for smaller stepper motors (NEMA11 and NEMA17), or servo motors 100W and 200W from Delta. It is possible to make combinations of different shaft sizes, for example connecting a stepper motor with a 6.35mm shaft to an 8mm ball screw. With this type of connection it is not possible to change the hubs yourself. Special tools are required to adjust the concentricity. It is therefore really important to immediately purchase the correct coupling, with the correct bore on both sides.
