This is the type of valve we most often use for switching vacuum. It is a pilot assisted valve, which basicly means it needs air pressure to be able to switch. On the side of the valve there is an extra 1/8" connector, that always needs to be pressurized. This assisting air pressure, helps the valve to be able to switch vacuum. In a normal 5/2 valve the air coming into valve is used to assist the electronic coil. This is also the reason a normal 5/2 valve, does not work properly in vacuum applications.
